Day 1 – (Embarkation in Maumere) Our crew will meet you at the airport, and transport you to Solitude Adventurer. After being welcomed onboard and showed to your room, there will be a safety briefing followed by lunch. There is a possibility of a check dive, schedule allowing.
Day 2 – Today we wake up at Pulau Raja. Half way between Maumere and Komodo National Park we find ourselves far from the crowds. We enjoy 3-4 dives today around this isolated island, enjoying vibrant reefs and abundant marine life. Overnight we sail to Komodo National Park.
Day 3 – We wake up in north central Komodo National Park. 3-4 dives are done today. The northern / central area of Komodo National Park is characterized by clear and relatively warmer water (25-27C). The corals thrive from the strong currents that flow between the Flores Sea and Indian Ocean through the channel. There are small islands and beautiful white sandy beaches scattered throughout the channel. Komodo island to the west and Flores to the east create a dramatic backdrop, adding to the excitement of the adventure. There are drift dives, sandy bottom macro dives, pinnacles and even the occasional Manta Ray that are in store for you in the north.
Day 4 – We move to the north, diving around Gili Lawa Darat and Gili Lawa Laut. Many of the famous Komodo dive sites are in this area. There are channel drift dives, underwater pinnacles teeming with fish and beautiful coral. Currents can be strong here, as the ocean flows around the small islands, an exciting challenge awaits. We will have 3-4 dives each day.
Day 5 – We begin with a morning dive in the north and then proceed south. As we head south and near the Indian Ocean, the water temperature begins to get cooler (18-25C). The colder water creates a breeding ground for plankton causing the water to become greener and dense with life. With decreased visibility, divers begin to focus more on the reef itself, rather than the wide-angle landscape. This brings into focus an array of interesting macro marine life. An afternoon dive and night dive are done in the area of Pink Beach. We have 3-4 dives today.
Day 6 – Early in the morning, with sea conditions allowing in the southern end of the park, we will sail to Manta Alley and onto Horseshoe Bay, where there’s a possibility to have amazing Manta Ray interactions. We spend the day in the south of the channel with both pelagic and macro marine life. After the third dive we sail to Padar island and enjoy a sunset hike to the Padar island viewpoint.
Day 7 – Today we have 3-4 dives in the North Central area of the Channel. Diving around small islands filled with beautiful coral and plenty of marine life.
Day 8 – Today is our last day of diving and we will have two morning dives. After the second dive it’s lunchtime, followed by the long-awaited land excursion to see the Komodo Dragons on Rinca island! After the land tour we will slowly make our way back to Labuan Bajo, as the crew washes your equipment please relax and enjoy. Before arriving in port, we will stop to view the nightly migration of hundreds of fruit bats. An impressive spectacle to see. We arrive into Labuan Bajo in the evening.
Day 9 – (Disembarkation in Labuan Bajo) Our crew will transport you to the airport. We hope to see you again soon. Thank you!
