Solitude Gaia Maldives Itinerary: 12 days & 11 nights, Maldives
Route: Malé – Vaavu – Meemu – Thaa – Laamu – Gaafu Alifu – Gaafu Dhaalu – Addu Atoll
Embarkation & Disembarkation: Malé (Velana International Airport, MLE)
Drive into the Maldives’ wildest waters on a long-range journey through the far south. Over eleven nights, Solitude Gaia Maldives tracks the pelagic highways of Addu (Seenu), Fuvahmulah (Gnaviyani), and Gaafu before curving north through Laamu, Thaa, Meemu and onward. Expect fast channels, schooling pelagics, shark action, and dramatic reef architecture shaped by open-ocean currents.
From briefing-led tiger-shark encounters at Fuvahmulah and plunging channel drifts in Gaafu to the WWII-era British Loyalty wreck in Addu, each day balances adrenaline with precision planning and safety. Between dives, unwind aboard Solitude Joy, trading stories on deck or easing into the Jacuzzi as the atolls slip by.
Designed for confident divers who love current, exploration, and big-animal encounters, this itinerary captures the south’s raw energy — untamed, unforgettable, and deeply Solitude.

The adventure begins in Addu Atoll, the Maldives’ southernmost atoll and a living time capsule of World War II history. Dive the British Loyalty Wreck, a 140-metre oil tanker now carpeted in coral, before exploring manta cleaning stations and channel walls patrolled by reef sharks, turtles, and eagle rays.

Gives the opportunity for up to 3 dives (briefing-led).
Choice of sites: Tiger Shark Zone / Bluewater Edge / Fuvahmulah Ridge
Prepare for one of the Indian Ocean’s most awe-inspiring experiences — diving alongside tiger sharks under strict professional protocols. Briefing-led dives focus on observation and respect, offering encounters with these apex predators in clear, open water. Between dives, look out for threshers, silvertips, and oceanic mantas along Fuvahmulah’s deep walls.

Gives the opportunity for 3 to 4 dives each day.
Choice of sites: Villingili Kandu / Nilandhoo Channel / Dhaandhoo Corner / Gemanafushi Ridge

Here, the open ocean feeds fast-moving channels alive with grey reef sharks, silvertips, tuna, barracuda, and swirling jacks. Expect long, rewarding dives through brilliant coral corridors followed by calm surface intervals under vast southern skies..
Day 7 Laamu Atoll
Gives the opportunity for 3 dives.
Choice of sites: Fushi Kandu / Maabaidhoo Wall / Fonadhoo Corner

Day 9 Meemu Atoll
Gives the opportunity for 3 to 4 dives.
Choice of sites: Muli Kandu / Veyvah Kandu / Medhufushi Lagoon
