VISA and Entry Requirements
- Citizens of 166 countries enjoy a 30-day Visa Exemption. Ensure your passport has 6 months validity.
- Complete the E-Travel Registration at least 72 hours prior to arrival (E-Travel Registration).
Language & Communication
- Official Language: The primary language is Tagalog, but English is widely used in all major cities and tourist areas.
- Staying Connected: Prepaid Globe SIM cards are available at the airport. Solitude Liveaboards and Resorts offers Starlink satellite internet. Adjust device settings to conserve data.
Currency & Payments
- Official Currency: the official currency is the Philippine Peso (PHP), but USD is also widely accepted in tourist areas.
- Payments:
- Credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) are widely accepted; however, AMEX and Diners Club cards have limited acceptance.
- Onboard Solitude One, payments via Visa and Mastercard are accepted, while at Solitude Acacia Resort, Visa, Mastercard, and AMEX are welcomed. Please note that a facility fee applies to all card transactions.
- Currency Exchange:
- Exchange cash at international airports or withdraw PHP from local ATMs.
Climate and Water Temperature
- Climate: The Philippines has a tropical climate with an annual average temperature of 28°C (82°F). Rainfall is common from July to October.
- Water Temperature: Ocean temperatures range from 27°C to 29°C (81°F to 84°F). A 3mm wetsuit is recommended, with a 5mm suit for cooler months or extended dives.

- 2 bottles of alcohol (max 1 litre each) (travellers must be aged 21 or older for alcohol).
- 400 cigarettes (equivalent to two (2) reams), 50 cigars, or 250g of tobacco (equivalent to two (2) tins).
Prohibited Items
To ensure a smooth journey, avoid bringing:
- Firearms, ammunition, weapons, explosives, fireworks, or hazardous items of any kind.
- Counterfeit or altered banknotes or securities.

- Arrival and Departure:
- For Solitude One: Transfers to and from the Puerto Princesa International Airport can be arranged through Solitude Liveaboards. Ensure your outbound flight ticket is ready during check-in at Puerto Princesa Port or transit airports.
- For Solitude Acacia Resort: Transfers to and from Manila or Clark International Airport can be coordinated with the resort. Please share your arrival details in advance to ensure a seamless transfer experience.
- Packing Advice: To minimise delays, pack liquids and aerosols in checked luggage and comply with airline weight restrictions. Most airlines, including United Airlines, allow 50lbs/23kg per bag. Confirm specific baggage allowances with your airline before travel.
