Embarkation & Disembarkation: Malé (Velana International Airport, MLE)
Embark on a captivating journey aboard Solitude Gaia Maldives, following the seasonal currents north to witness the breathtaking manta aggregations of Hanifaru Bay, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in Baa Atoll. Over seven nights, explore a blend of Malé, Ari, and Baa’s finest reefs — from drift-filled channels and coral gardens to manta cleaning stations alive with life.
Day 1: Embarkation – Malé
Settle into your home at sea, meet the crew, and prepare for the adventure ahead with orientation, registration, and a warm welcome dinner as we depart towards North Malé Atoll.
Day 2: North Malé Atoll
Dive opportunities: up to 2–3 dives
Ease into the Maldivian rhythm with dives at sites such as Lankan Manta Point or Girifushi Thila, known for mantas, turtles, and vibrant coral gardens.
Day 3: Ari Atoll
Dive opportunities: up to 3 dives
Explore iconic reefs such as Maaya Thila and Fish Head, known for sharks, snapper, and lively coral plateaus.
Day 4: Transit to Baa Atoll
Dive opportunities: up to 2 – 3 dives
Enter the UNESCO reserve and explore reefs shaped by oceanic flow, with turtles, reef sharks, and schooling fish.
Day 5: Baa Atoll – Hanifaru Bay
Dive opportunities: up to 3 dives + snorkelling
Experience the highlight of the expedition as you snorkel among feeding mantas inside Hanifaru Bay (subject to permit and conditions). Nearby reef dives reveal turtles, reef sharks, and kaleidoscopic coral life.
Day 6: Baa Atoll Exploration
Dive opportunities: up to 3 dives + snorkelling
Continue exploring Baa’s thilas and cleaning stations, with the chance of a second Hanifaru encounter if conditions permit.
Day 7: Ari or North Malé Atoll (conditions dependent)
Dive opportunities: up to 2 dives
Enjoy relaxed reef and garden dives on the return south, followed by a farewell dinner onboard.
Day 8: Malé – Disembarkation
No Dive Day
Enjoy breakfast as we return to Malé for disembarkation and transfers to the airport or onward resort stay.

All itineraries are weather, current, and marine-life dependent, and may be adjusted by the Cruise Director to maximise safety and enjoyment. Manta and whale shark sightings are natural encounters and cannot be guaranteed.

Day 1 Embarkation – Malé (Velana International Airport, MLE)
Boarding for Solitude Gaia Maldives begins promptly at 1400 and concludes no later than 1000 on Day 2.
Welcome aboard Solitude Gaia Maldives, your home for the next seven nights. After complimentary airport or hotel transfers, our crew will greet you with a smile and guide you through check-in. Settle into your cabin, complete diver registration, and attend orientation and safety briefings.
We’ll collect Atoll entry and marine park fees, so please have your C-Cards and/or logbooks ready. Dinner is served as we cast off towards North Malé Atoll and your first Maldivian sunset.

Days 2 North Malé Atoll
Gives the opportunity for 2 to 3 dives.
Embarkation concludes at 1000.
Choice of regions and sites: Lankan Manta Point / Girifushi Thila //Sunlight Thila / Victory wreck / Nerumathi / Feydhoo wall and Fish tank.
Ease into Maldivian diving with sheltered pinnacles and cleaning stations where turtles, fusiliers, and occasionally mantas glide through blue water.
Sites such as Lankan Manta Point or Girifushi Thila offer colourful coral gardens and the gentle currents typical of the region.
These relaxed dives set the tone for the days ahead as we continue north toward Baa Atoll.
Day 3 Ari Atoll
Gives the opportunity for 3 dives.
Choice of regions and sites: Maaya Thila / Fish Head / Hafsa Thila
Today takes you into Ari Atoll, home to some of the Maldives’ most well-known thilas. Maaya Thila and Fish Head offer vibrant coral slopes filled with snapper, sweetlips, and frequent white-tip reef sharks.
These reefs are alive with movement, creating excellent opportunities for wide-angle photography and calm, unhurried dives as we make our way toward Baa.
Day 4 Transit to Baa Atoll (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve)
Gives the opportunity for 2 to 3 dives.
Choice of sites: Dhigali Haa / Nelivaru Haa / Reethi Thila / Dharavandhoo Thila / Donfanu Thila / Kakaa Thila / Turtle Reef

Arriving in Baa Atoll, the ecosystem shifts into one of the Maldives’ most protected and biologically rich environments. Dives may include Dhigali Haa, known for its impressive coral formations and resident turtles, or Nelivaru Haa, where vibrant reef life clusters along the slopes.
These sites offer a balance of gentle currents, sweeping coral gardens, and schools of reef fish — a calm prelude to the manta encounters to come.
Day 5 Baa Atoll (Hanifaru Bay)
Gives the opportunity for up to 3 dives, plus 1 snorkelling session.
Choice of regions and sites: Hanifaru Bay (snorkel only) / Dhigali Haa / Dhonfanu Thila / Kakaa Thila / Dharavandhoo Thila and Dharavandhoo Rock.
This day centres around one of the Maldives’ most extraordinary natural spectacles: the seasonal manta aggregation inside Hanifaru Bay.
Entry is strictly regulated by permit and snorkelling guidelines to protect this UNESCO site. When conditions align, mantas gather here in large numbers, forming elegant feeding chains that circle through the plankton-rich bay.
Additional dives may include Dhonfanu Thila or Dhigali Haa, where reef sharks, turtles, and colourful coral formations offer exceptional variety.
Day 6 Baa Atoll Exploration
Gives the opportunity for 3 dives.
Choice of regions and sites: Nelivaru Haa / Maalhos Thila / Milaidhoo Reef
Continue exploring Baa’s Reefs and pinnacles, home to cleaning stations and dense soft coral growth. If conditions permit, a second Hanifaru Bay entry may be scheduled. Enjoy evening cruising under a sky spangled with stars as the vessel turns south for the journey home.
Day 7 Ari or North Malé Atoll (conditions dependent)
Gives the opportunity for 2 dives.
Choice of regions and sites: Moofushi / Rasdhoo Madivaru / Veligadu Manta Point / Kuramathi Kandu (weather-dependent)
On the return journey, you may dive in Ari Atoll or North Malé, depending on sea state and timing.
These penultimate dives are relaxed, featuring colourful coral gardens, anemone-filled ridges, and the chance of manta or shark encounters.
After the final dive, return onboard for a farewell dinner and your last evening at sea.
Day 8 Disembarkation: Malé (Velana International Airport, MLE)
No diving today.
After breakfast, it is time to disembark from Solitude Gaia Maldives. Transfers to the airport or onward accommodation will be arranged by our team.
As you say goodbye to the crew, carry with you the memory of mantas, coral gardens, turquoise lagoons, and the gentle rhythm of the Maldivian seas.
