Days 2 North Malé Atoll
Gives the opportunity for 2 to 3 dives.
Embarkation concludes at 1000.
Choice of regions and sites: Kurumba Reef / Lankan Manta Point / HP Reef / Nassimo Thila
Your first diving day offers a gentle introduction to Maldivian conditions, with pinnacles, soft corals, and schooling reef fish setting the rhythm.
Lankan Manta Point may offer glimpses of mantas at cleaning stations, while thilas like HP Reef or Nassimo provide vivid coral gardens and swirling fusiliers.
These dives help you ease into buoyancy and current awareness before we continue northward into more remote regions.
Day 3 Baa Atoll (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve)
Gives the opportunity for 3 dives.
Choice of regions and sites: Dhigali Haa / Nelivaru Haa / Dhonfanu Thila
Arriving in Baa Atoll, you will notice the shift in atmosphere as reefs become more textured and shaped by open-ocean flow. Sites such as Dhigali Haa and Nelivaru Haa host turtles, reef sharks, and vibrant coral slopes filled with colour.
The UNESCO designation reflects the richness of these waters, where channels and drop-offs create a dynamic home for both pelagic life and macro details.
Day 4 – 5 Raa Atoll
Gives the opportunity for 3–4 dives each day.
Choice of regions and sites: Reethi Thila / Fainu Thila / Fenfushi Thila
Moving deeper into the northern reaches, Raa Atoll offers wide thilas, gentle currents, and coral ridges with excellent visibility. These reefs tend to be quieter, giving divers space to slow down and observe the intricate patterns of schooling snapper, sweetlips, and occasional eagle rays.
Across two days, you will explore a variety of sites built on colourful hard-coral frameworks, often punctuated by sea fans and overhangs teeming with life.
Day 6 – 7 Lhaviyani & Noonu Atolls
Gives the opportunity for 3–4 dives each day.
Choice of regions and sites: Kuredu Express / Felivaru Kandu / Orimas Thila
Lhaviyani Atoll is known for lively channels such as Kuredu Express, where schooling trevally and grey reef sharks move through clear water.
Felivaru Kandu adds dramatic walls and ridges.
Crossing into Noonu Atoll, sites like Orimas Thila reveal healthy coral coverage, sea fans, and good wide-angle scenes. Pelagics visit these outer reefs regularly, and sheltered areas provide opportunities for macro sightings.
These two days blend gentle exploration with bursts of energy from channel currents.
Day 8 – 9 Shaviyani & Haa Dhaalu Atolls
Gives the opportunity for 3–4 dives each day.
Choice of regions and sites: Veyvah Kandu / Hanimaadhoo Outer Reef / Rainbow Canyon
The northern isolation becomes more evident as you enter Shaviyani and Haa Dhaalu, where visitor numbers are low and the reefs feel expansive and undisturbed.
Drifts through Veyvah Kandu may bring eagle rays, reef sharks, and tightly packed schools of fusiliers, while Hanimaadhoo Outer Reef and Rainbow Canyon feature tall coral ridges, shaded overhangs, and textured hard-coral landscapes.
These regions are ideal for divers who enjoy slow exploration and pristine coral formations.
Day 10 Haa Alif Atoll (Northern Frontier)
Gives the opportunity for up to 3 dives.
Choice of regions and sites: Baarah Reef / Ihavandhippolhu Channel / North Thiladhunmathi Wall
Reaching the Maldives’ northern frontier, Haa Alif stands apart for its wide channels, remote drop-offs, and the sheer scale of its reef structures.
Dives may include the Ihuandhippolhu Channel, positioned at the very edge of the archipelago where the Indian Ocean meets the northern shelf.
Expect sweeping vistas, branching hard corals, and the possibility of pelagic visitors moving along the reefs.
The sense of remoteness here is profound — a quiet, wild finale to your northern journey.
Day 11 Disembarkation: Dharavandhoo or Hanimaadhoo
No diving today.
After breakfast, you will disembark at either Dharavandhoo Airport (Baa Atoll) or return with the vessel to Malé, depending on the cruise route. Our team will assist with transfers and onward travel arrangements.
As you say farewell to Solitude Gaia Maldives, reflect on a voyage through the Maldives’ most peaceful and untouched atolls — a journey marked by sweeping coral gardens, low-traffic reefs, and the quiet beauty of the far north.
