WORLD-CLASS DIVING ON YOUR DOORSTEP
Lembeh Strait, situated near Lembeh Island in North Sulawesi, stands among the world’s renowned diving destinations and is an absolute must for those exploring Indonesia. It has evolved into a prime spot for underwater photographers due to the wealth of unique critters dwelling here. Divers flock to Lembeh in search of rare creatures like the elusive hairy octopus, pygmy seahorses, and the mimic octopus, rarely seen elsewhere.
This diving haven caters to divers of all skill levels, offering mild currents, low surge, and shallow dive sites. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned photographer, the dive conditions in the Lembeh Strait are mostly pleasant, offering numerous opportunities to spot nudibranchs and crabs in their natural habitat. To enhance and optimise your diving experience, we maintain a dedicated dive ratio of 2 divers to 1 guide (2:1), ensuring personalised guidance and the best possible encounters with the marine life.
Water temperatures vary throughout the year, reaching around 28-29 degrees Celsius (82-84 Fahrenheit) from October to March and dropping to 25-26 degrees Celsius (79-81 Fahrenheit) in July and August. We suggest a 5mm wetsuit, especially for multiple dives per day, although we provide rentals for added layers if needed.
Regarding visibility in the Lembeh Strait, it averages around 10 meters. However, for muck diving, visibility is less crucial compared to reef diving.

Dive Insurance
Comprehensive Dive Insurance for Secure Underwater Adventures at Solitude Lembeh Resorts
At Solitude Liveaboards and Resorts, we prioritise the safety of our guests above all else, recognising that a secure diving experience in Lembeh Strait is paramount to an unforgettable adventure. Our commitment to dive safety is unwavering, and we implement rigorous measures to ensure the well-being of every diver exploring the depths with us.
While we go to great lengths to provide a secure environment, we firmly believe in the importance of personal responsibility. Hence, it is mandatory for diving at both our Liveaboards and Resorts that all guests possess appropriate dive insurance before embarking on any underwater excursions. This requirement is not just a formality; it is a crucial step towards safeguarding yourself and your fellow divers against unforeseen circumstances.
In the unpredictable world of diving in Lembeh, having reliable dive insurance is a prudent decision. To assist our guests in making informed choices, we recommend two reputable and specialised dive insurance providers – DAN WORLD and DIVE ASSURE. These organisations are renowned for their comprehensive coverage and dedication to diver safety.
We encourage you to carefully review the offerings of DAN WORLD and DIVE ASSURE to find the insurance plan that best suits your individual needs. Choosing the right coverage ensures peace of mind, allowing you to fully enjoy the breathtaking underwater experiences that our Liveaboards and Resorts offer. Remember, your safety is our top priority, and we are here to support you in making the right decisions for a secure and memorable diving adventure.
Additionally, we want you to know that if we receive any affiliation commission upon your selection to purchase cover from either of these companies, the funds will be reinvested to continue to educate, train, and provide the necessary and much-needed personal equipment to our dive guides at our various locations. Your decision to prioritize safety not only benefits you but also contributes to the ongoing improvement of our diving programs, ensuring an enriching experience for everyone involved. Remember, your safety is our top priority, and we are here to support you in making the right decisions for a secure and memorable diving adventure.
